"Friends of the Holidays" Presents A Benefit Concert & Auction/Raffle |
"Friends of the Holidays" is a local, non-profit, 100% volunteer organization dedicated to providing food for low-income families during the December holiday season. In their 8 years of service, they have been able to provide support for over 2,300 families. This success stems from a wonderful partnership with several social service organizations, local musicians & you...our greater community.
This year, "Friends of the Holidays" have targeted to assist 500 families in the Pierce County area. 90% of our budge comes from the proceeds of 2 music/auction benefits that they hold during the year.
The next benefit will be held on December 9th, 2007 at the historic Swiss Tavern. They are extremely fortunate to have the following performers appear: Kellee Bradley, Polly O'Keary Band, Rod Cook & Toast, Billy Roy Danger & the Rectifiers, Bump Kitchen, Red Hot Blues Sister and The Randy Oxford Band. This is, top to bottom, one fo the hottest lineups "Friends of the Holidays" have ever had the pleasure of hosting. The support they have received from our friends in the music community has been overwhelming!

Stroud’s Auto Rebuild has begun broadcasting CrashTalk, a one-hour consumer
 |
talk show on KGNW 820AM every Saturday evening at 5:00 PM. CrashTalk is a live call-in radio show hosted by Mike Harber, owner of Stroud’s Auto Rebuild in Tacoma. The one-hour show features local guests from the legal and medical professions, insurance, and collision industry, and experts from all around the country. Consumers can call (800-955-8200) or write-in (crashtalk@stroudsauto.com) with questions about accident and repair issues, car safety, and insurance claims. Experts from these fields will offer advice and answers to the critical issues facing car owners after they’ve been involved in an accident. Statistics reveal that a typical car owner will have an accident involving an insurance claim once every seven years. This is not frequent enough for the average consumer to become familiar with what is involved and to know what their rights are under the law. CrashTalk provides consumers with a helpful resource where they can ask questions about their situations, learn how to deal with the hassles, and protect themselves and the value of their cars. Stroud’s has been recognized by the Better Business Bureau for its consumer advocate efforts, receiving the Honorable Mention Consumer Advocate of the Year award in 2001. In the same location since 1962, their reputation for high quality repairs and customer service is exceeded only by their focus on assisting consumers to receive proper, complete, and safe repairs.
